Training
All Carers will attend a 5 Day Induction Training Course programme at a Training
Venue near to their Employment Base. Refreshments are provided throughout the Training
Programme, this is without charge. Training continues throughout employment to ensure
that Carers have sufficient knowledge and skills to carry out their full range of
duties.
Shadowing/Observation Training
After initial Training is completed all new employees must spend some time 'shadowing'
with an experienced Carer or Supervisor.
New Carers will be observed assisting and communicating with the Elderly when carrying
out the range of duties expected of the Carer. This experienced Carer/Supervisor
will support you and assess your attitude and ability towards caring and report
your progress to the Care Manager. Please note that your Shadowing/Supervision training
is not expected to take any longer than 2 weeks. Should you need to extend this
training you will be advised as this will normall mean you are experiencing problems/issues
with your new role. At this stage Briarcare Ltd is not obliged to offer employment
if you are deemed not suitable or competent by the Manager.
The rate payable for each hour you shadow with an experienced Carer is £5.52.
